Façade Theatre

During the final year of my degree and throughout my MA, I collaborated with two other female artists; Samantha Vickeridge and Natasha McNicholas.

We made 3 things together as Façade Theatre:

Celladour

celladour

Three women emerge from a box—identical yet distinct. A man speaks for them, shaping their story—his version of it anyway. They compete without knowing why, complete their tasks with no clear purpose. In the end confetti falls as they return reluctantly back into the box.

Cellardour was a performance examining the ugliness of beautification across cultures, past and present.

Commissioned as part of SHIFT Festival @ Contact Theatre 2014

Here, alone (together)

Facade

A triptych multimedia installation, hidden behind a curtain.

Here, Alone (Together) invited audiences to experience the British seaside through the eyes and ears of a recent migrant longing for a loved one.

Presented at Gift Festival, Gateshead 2010 & Media City, Salford 2011

The Scent Tent

peg

A playful, interactive experience guiding audiences through a journey of scent inside a 3×3 pop-up gazebo.

Participants answered questions and used the tools provided to create their own signature fragrance.

The Scent Tent explored the language of the perfume industry, questioning what we’re really buying into.
